The frontyard of a house mostly is a place you can not use, so some people tend to make it into a showroom. A showroom that preferably requires as little maintenance as possible, that reflects as much as possible the “most individual expression of the most individual feelings”.
The frontyard is the first impression: it’s’s the first thing that passersby or visitors see when they look at your house. The frontyard can have a lasting impact on the perception of the house. It’s percieved as a public space, whereas the back yard is a private space.
